I am a mixed media artist, specializing in watercolor and acrylics, ink and colored pencils and digital design. My artwork captures elements of nature, bringing out the symbolism in my subjects. I incorporate my knowledge of graphic design by creating digital drawings or adding digital effects to traditional paintings.
My father was also an artist and I grew up seeing his artwork in our home, so I've always been interested in art as a kid. I attended the Art Institute of Colorado studying Graphic Design. From there, I became interested in traditional painting.
I primarily use watercolors, ink and colored pencils. I have also used acrylics, oils, and every now and then create digital illustration art. I consider myself a mixed media artist.
I like my artwork to convey a hidden meaning. When I chose an animal or subject, I look for the symbolism of that animal and see where my mind takes me. Being out in nature and seeing wildlife also sparks my creativity.
